Aortic Vorticity, Helicity, and Aortopathy in Adult Patients with Tetralogy of Fallot: Pilot Study Using Four‑Dimensional Flow Magnetic Resonance Images
4D Flow MRI in 51 adult patients with tetralogy of Fallot was performed. They have analyzed vorticity, helicity, wall shear stress, energy loss in the ascending aorta and aortic root, and the angle of the left ventricular outflow tract.
They have investigated the factor associated with these parameters and aortopathy.
These results suggest that blood flow analysis by 4D Flow MRI may be useful in predicting aortopathy in adults with tetralogy of Fallot.
