Computational fluid dynamics of internal mammary artery–left anterior descending artery anastomoses
CABG(coronary artery bypass grafting) little is known about the haemodynamic characteristics of the IMA–left anterior descending artery (LAD) anastomosis and the haemodynamical changes that develop after the surgery.
WSS(Wall Shear Stress) plays an essential role in intimal degeneration in atherosclerotic diseases.
This study aimed to elucidate the remodeling of the internal mammary artery–left anterior descending artery anastomosis and compare two different anastomosis techniques,end-to-side versus side-to-side using computational fluid dynamics.
The result shows that IMA's side-to-side technique–LAD anastomosis has no significant disadvantage over the end-to-side technique.
