The study evaluated the blood flow dynamics in the pulmonary artery of patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) using computational fluid dynamics. It found that patients with CTEPH had decreased blood flow velocity and increased shear stress compared to the control group, and that pulmonary thromboendarterectomy improved blood flow dynamics.
